Finding a Specialist
A proper ADHD evaluation and treatment plan requires a qualified professional. Here's what to look for:
Psychiatrist
Can prescribe medication and provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Best for complex cases or when medication is desired.
Psychologist (PhD/PsyD)
Can perform comprehensive neuropsychological testing and provide CBT, but typically cannot prescribe medication.
Neurologist
Specialist in brain and nervous system disorders. Some focus on ADHD, particularly when ruling out other neurological conditions.
General Practitioner / PCP
